Forever – Cynthia Clawson
This version of ‘Forever’ is from the original CD ‘Forever’ first released in 1983. Forever is timeless and it is nearly new. When released in 1983, it was filled with great music, but difficult to categorize. It has a sound that is distinctly influenced by the jazz idiom, songs with sweeping orchestral arrangements, arrangements with pounding rhythms, and gentle, prayerful songs. It showcases the unique stylings of Cynthia Clawson who has not followed the advice of the gospel music pundits. They insisted she be more one-dimentional in order to make it easier to categorize her music and market it to a specific group. She was not encouraged to be multi-dimentional – but she is. Come Celebrate Jesus went to number one on the Christian charts.

Lyrics:
Sunsets and seasons and streams like our dreams come and go
But He is the peace in our lives that survives for we knowHe is forever and ever and never will cease
He is the Lord of peace
He is forever and ever and never will cease
Our never-ending, everlasting peaceMountains may crumble and fall, after all what are they?
But He is the joy that endures, we are sure He will stayHe is forever and ever what time can’t destroy
He is the song of joy
He is forever and ever what time can’t destroy
Our never-ending, everlasting joyPraise the Lord, He will never cease
Praise the Lord, He is joy and peaceWe are like castles of sand, now we stand, soon we’re gone
But He is the love that remains, though we change He goes onHe is forever and ever our Father above
He is the heart of love
He is forever and ever our Father above
Our everlasting, never-ending lovePraise the Lord, for He reigns above
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is love
Praise the Lord, for He reigns above
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is love
